Extreme Makeover Home Edition Comes to Connecticut

ABC TV EXTREME MAKEOVER HOME EDITION, which airs on Sunday evenings, selected a Bridgeport family for a new home rebuild.

Gulick Associates, LLC of New Canaan was the builder on this project. They pulled together a team to bring this project together including an architect, site project manager, media relations, fund raising and site volunteers. Edgerton, Inc., of Monroe and The Gault Co. of Westport teamed up to install the HVAC.

Gault installed the boiler, oil tanks and air conditioning – Edgerton, Inc., installed the duct systems, which consisted of 2 high efficient split systems with humidification and electronic air cleaners.

Energy Kinetics donated the boiler – Star Supply and Trane Corp. donated the HVAC equipment. Plimpton and Hills along with Shelton Winnair donated the sheet metal material.

The house was built in five days from the foundation to its’ completion. There was an average of 200 – 300 onsite laborers working at a time.

Edgerton and Gault worked under extreme heat in the basement and attic with a combined team of 14 – 16 onsite installers. The basement temperature from concrete curing was around 160 –170 degrees and the attic 140 degrees.

Charlie Edgerton commended his employees for the diligent work effort saying "It feels great to volunteer".
